Collaboration isn’t complicated.
You don’t need to wait until you attain enlightenment or become the person you’ve always dreamed of being. You can collaborate with everyone, every time if you keep in mind these 5 laws:
1. Letting go isn’t failure.
2. Influence isn’t persuasion.
3. Listening and understanding (paraphrasing) isn’t agreeing.
4. Exploring options isn’t committing
5. Collaboration isn’t consensus.
Over the next few weeks, I’ll be fleshing out these laws and describing the practices that bring them to life. For this week, I’m asking you to think about these.
